You awaken to the sounds of screams in the night. You look out the window and see a crowd of what looks like people wandering around outside. Suddenly you hear the sound of gunfire and the moonlight shines on the face of a person in your yard. You notice the person is disfigured and decayed. You have seen it in the movies but you never thought it could really happen....until now. What do you do? Do you hide in your house waiting for the inevitable or do you make your stand?

Realizing your only chance to survive this is to make it to the car and get out of any populated area you look around the room for your options.  You hear the sound of glass breaking. You run to your gun safe. It seems like an eternity as you fumble through the numbers on the tumbler. A final click and the handle is engaged. Now you must make a quick decision.

The pump shotgun- good ole' reliable. 8 shot capacity and it packs a punch but it is slow to load.

The semi-auto shotgun- You have two to choose from. The tube loading Benelli M3 tactical. Ultra fast action. 8 rounds in 2 seconds but you still have that tube to load. You have the mag fed  Saiga 12. 10 round detachable mags and a 20 round drum. All the power, fast action and higher capacity.  A great choice for close quarters.

Now you need a rifle .

The bolt action- very accurate but limited capacity. Would be great from a roof top if you had time to plan your shots. But that is not the case right now.

The mag fed assault rifle-  Good accuracy with high capacity. The obvious choice now for selections.

Ar-15 / M4 - A proven platform. Had its downs but it has been improved. You have the Barret piston operated 6.8spc  M4 carbine. Collapsible stock,bayonet, flash hider, Acog scope and a rail-system with tac light. Powerful, mean, light and accurate.  But after you leave town not much hope to find ammo.

AK-47 / Krinkov- One of the most reliable guns in the world. This one is in 7.62 x 39. You have 20and 30 round mags as well as 75 round drums. This gun has a short profile and  a locking side folding triangle stock. It is light. It has a rail system with a flashlight and a red dot scope mounted on the rail on the side of the gun. It has a flash hider to hide your position and a bayonet lug for when it is time to get close and nasty. It is a Russian caliber but it is easy to find.

HK-91/51- Long range power in 308.  This gun can handle any job you throw at it. It has a flash hider, bayonet and a collapsible stock. The  51 is the short barrel version so it has a small profile. You have 20 and 30 round mags as well as a fifty round drum. It has the accuracy of an AR but the reliability of an AK.  The ammo is heavy though so you can't take much and you have to move fast. This gun is really more power than you need in town unless you can make it to a tower or rooftop.

FN Fal - Another great choice. Very accurate 21 inch barrel. It comes with a side folding stock, bayonet  and a side folding stock. The sand cuts in the bolt means it practically cleans itself. It is in 308 though and again the ammo will weigh you down.

Steyr Aug / FN SCAR / FN FNC/ AR15 /Daewoo/ACR/- All great combat rifles. Chambered in .556 the ammo is light. All these guns are accurate. But the ammo is a smaller projectile.

Barret M82A1- Oh the 50 bmg. How sweet it is. You can disintegrate a zombie with a toe shot. But you want range with this baby. This gun is heavy and so is the ammo. Unmatched power and accuracy but at this point you need speed.

MP5- A smaller platform ultra reliable gun.  Flash hider and a collapsible stock and it is  built for abuse.  You have 30 round mags and a 100 round beta c-mag. 9mm is a good fast round. The ammo is readily available.
